3. Data security

We maintain modern technological measures to ensure data security, especially for the protection of your personal data from the dangers of data transmission as well as from exposure to third parties. In each case, these measures are aligned with current state-of-the-art technology.

4. Processing of personal data

4.1. Collection of personal data during visits to our website

During purely informational use of our website, i.e. when you do not register or provide us with information in some other way, we only collect the personal data your browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data which we technically require to show you our website and to ensure stability and security (the legal basis here is article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, letter f of the GDPR), whereby the following information is captured without any action on your part and stored for three days in the server logs of the server of our hosting company before automatic deletion:

  • domain requested
  • IP adress
  • time of request
  • Request, i.e. number of requests made to our site
  • access status/http status code
  • data volume/bytes transmitted in each case
  • user agent/browser

4.2. Use of cookies

Our website uses cookies which are stored on your computer by the browser and which contain settings relating to the use of the website (e.g. to the current session). They ensure greater user friendliness, efficiency and security when accessing the data we provide; cookies are short text files which are stored on your computer, saved by your browser. The legal basis here is article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, letter f of the GDPR.

You can configure your browser settings as you wish. We would point out, however, that you then may not be able to use all the functions offered by this website.

4.3. Further functions and website options offered

In addition to the purely informative use of our website, we offer various options you may be interested in. As a rule, you are then requested to enter further personal data which we use to provide the service required.

Contact via e-mail

In case of any questions, we offer you the option of contacting us via the e-mail addresses given on our website. We shall use the data you provide in this case exclusively for processing your query, whereby article 6, paragraph 1, sentence 1, letter f of the GDPR also applies. Should the query be directed toward the conclusion of a contract, then the legal basis for processing is, in addition, article 6, paragraph 1, letter b of the GDPR (Performance of a Contract). The handling of this personalised data only serves the processing of establishing contact. Within our company, those sections have access to your data who require it for processing your query.

You have the option of objecting to data processing. This objection is to be submitted to the contact named under 1.

Your data shall only be processed for the purpose of replying to your query. Any data collected in this connection are erased once storage is no longer necessary and no statutory retention requirements apply.

5. SSL/TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption to ensure the security of data processing and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders, login data or contact requests that you send to us as the operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the “https://” instead of “http://” in the address line of the browser and by the lock symbol in your browser line.

We use this technology to protect your transmitted data.

6. Hosting by Mittwald

We host our website with Mittwald CM Service GmbH & Co. KG, Königsberger Straße 4-6, 32339 Espelkamp (hereinafter referred to as Mittwald).

When you visit our website, your personal data (e.g. IP addresses in log files) are processed on Mittwald’s servers.

Mittwald is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the most reliable presentation, provision and security of our website.

We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with Mittwald in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. This is a contract prescribed by data protection law, which ensures that Mittwald processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

You can find more information on Mittwald’s data protection provisions at: https://www.mittwald.de/datenschutz

We use the WordPress cookie plugin “Borlabs Cookie” from Borlabs GmbH, Rübenkamp 32, 22305 Hamburg, Germany. This service enables us to obtain and manage the consent of website users for data processing.

Borlabs Cookie uses cookies to collect data generated by end users who use our website. When an end user gives consent, the following data, among others, is automatically logged:

  • Cookie duration,
  • Cookie version,
  • Domain and path of the WordPress page,
  • Selection in the cookie banner,
  • UID (a randomly generated ID),

The consent status is also stored in the end user’s browser so that the website can automatically read and follow the end user’s consent in all subsequent page requests and future end user sessions for up to 12 months. The consent data (consent and withdrawal of consent) is stored for three years. The retention period corresponds to the regular limitation period pursuant to Section 195 of the German Civil Code (BGB). The data will then be deleted immediately.

The functionality of the website is not guaranteed without the described processing. The user has no right to object as long as there is a legal obligation to obtain the user’s consent to certain data processing operations, Art. 7 para. 1, 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. c) GDPR.

The data collected will not be forwarded to Borlabs GmbH, nor will Borlabs GmbH have access to it.

You can find more information at: https://de.borlabs.io/borlabs-cookie/.

8. Use of WP Statistics

This website uses the analysis tool WP Statistics to statistically evaluate visitor access. The provider is Veronalabs, ARENCO Tower, 27th Floor, Dubai Media City, Dubai, Dubai 23816, UAE (https://veronalabs.com). With WP Statistics we can analyze the use of our website. Among other things, WP Statistics records log files (IP address, referrer, browser used, origin of the user, search engine used) and actions that website visitors have taken on the site (e.g. clicks and views). The data collected with WP Statistics is stored exclusively on our own server. This analysis tool is used on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TTDSG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or access to information in the user’s end device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TTDSG. Consent can be revoked at any time. We use WP Statistics with anonymized IP. Your IP address is shortened so that it can no longer be directly assigned to you.

9. Use of OpenStreetMap

We have integrated map sections of the online map tool “OpenStreetMap” on our website. This is what is known as open source mapping, which we can access via an API (interface). This function is offered by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Center, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom. By using this service, you can, for example, view our location and make it easier for you to find us.

When you access the subpages in which OpenStreetMap is integrated, information about your use of our website (such as your IP address, data about your browser, device type, operating system) is transmitted to OpenStreetMap and stored there.

OpenStreetMap uses the Content Delivery Network (CDN) of Fastly, Inc, PO Box 78266, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (fastly) to accelerate the service. A CDN is a service with the help of which the content of our online offer, in particular large media files such as graphics or scripts, are delivered faster with the help of regionally distributed servers connected via the Internet. Your data is processed exclusively for the aforementioned purposes and to maintain the security and functionality of the CDN.

As a US company, Fastly is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. This constitutes an adequacy decision pursuant to Art. 45 GDPR, so that personal data may be transferred without further guarantees or additional measures.

Fastly transfers personal data from the log files (e.g. IP addresses) to the USA for each data processing operation, as certain servers for processing the log files are only located in the USA. Fastly is therefore committed to complying with the standards and regulations of European data protection law. You can find Fastly’s current privacy policy at:

https://www.fastly.com/de/privacy/.

If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

You can find detailed information about OpenStreetMap at: https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy.

16. Amendment of the Data Protection Declaration

Due to the further development of our website and related options or due to any changes in legal or official guidelines, it may be necessary to amend this Data Protection Declaration.
