Commissioning Modern Saw Mill
Our new state-of-the-art saw mill in Penzberg, for which we completed an extension to our plant B at the beginning of 2019, has been running at full steam since April.
This extension covering c. 10 x 20 m has insulated glazing for the windows and insulated cladding for the steel construction of the walls; it offers plenty of space and light for sawing steel bars with the KASTO Variospeed C15 fully automatic production circular saw. Bar stock can be easily loaded onto a feeder from outside in its full length – maximum 6 m – by means of a side loader; the mill is then fed automatically through an opening in the wall.
The saw mill cuts bar stock up to a diameter of 150 mm and magnetic lifting gear automatically sorts it into the cages provided. Alternatively, bulk material can also be emitted. Once loaded and programmed accordingly, the mill works independently, secured by light barriers, enabling further improvements in logistics and quality.
For this reason, Schleicher Fahrzeugteile intends gradually having all their steel bar sawing to measure done at Penzberg, to then be distributed to the appropriate production facility, whereby there is still plenty of capacity for taking on contract sawing for other companies.
